THE BEST GAME IN THE TOONIVERSE
ARE YOU TOON ENOUGH?
FIVE JELLYBEANS

10th Anniversary Update

Toons, can you believe it? Toontown Archive is TEN years old! That's a whole decade of cream pies, pianos and Trolley rides through Toontowns that were never supposed to come back. And along the way, YOU have created over 10,000 Toons! Whew, that's a whole lot of Make-A-Toon! (We tried to count every pie thrown, too, but we got hit with one halfway through and lost count!)

So what does a Toon get for its birthday? Presents, of course! And this year YOU get to unwrap them all. Here's what's new:

  • Seltzer (2008) - "Fresh from the bottle!"
  • Muffin on the Web - "No download? No problem!"
  • ToonTransfer on the Web - "Step right through!"
  • Mac Support on Every Server - "Simply Mac-nificent!"

Seltzer Is Bubbling Over!

Pop the cap, Toons! Seltzer is open! Our newest server takes you back to Toontown as it was in 2008, from the Bossbots' Country Club all the way down to the last Trolley track.

And for the first time ever, Toontown Archive speaks Japanese! Seltzer can be played in English or Japanese, with kana in everything from Pick-A-Name to your nametag, the district list and even your Doodle's name. Pick your language from the launcher before you play. すごい! (That's Japanese for "awesome!")

Seltzer also comes with a choice of look. Keep the original 2008 graphics just the way you remember them, or switch to source quality textures for a crisper, sharper Toontown. Same Toontown ... just in its Sunday best!

To pick your look, select Seltzer in the launcher, click the gear icon in the top-right corner, and find Texture Quality:

  • Low - The original 2008 graphics, exactly as Toons saw them back then. This is the default!
  • High - The source quality textures, crisp and clean.

Pick High and the launcher will download the new textures for you. Want the classic look back? Just switch to Low. "Low" isn't a downgrade, it's the real 2008 deal!

Muffin Is Fresh Out of the Oven and Into Your Browser!

Muffin, our 2001 beta server, is now playable on the web! There's nothing to download and nothing to install. Just head to /play/muffin, make your Toon and go.

Muffin even works on phones and tablets, with an on-screen joystick for getting around and a keyboard for naming your Toon in Make-A-Toon. Add it to your home screen and Toontown's earliest days are only a tap away!

ToonTransfer Takes a Time Leap!

ToonTransfer has a brand-new home: your web browser! Professor Flake's Void Zone is now playable right on our website at /play/toontransfer, and it picked up some upgrades on the way over:

  • Seltzer is a destination - Bring your Toon from Cupcake, Cream Pie, Safe or Storm Cloud all the way to 2008!
  • The time leap - Transferring now comes with a brand-new cutscene as your Toon zips through a wormhole on its way to a new Toontown. Hold on to your hat! (It's optional, so Toons in a hurry can head straight there.)
  • A bigger Void Zone - There's more to explore than ever!
  • Your Shticker Book and Time Card - Check where you've been and where you're going.
  • Nametags for everyone - Every Toon in the Void Zone now shows its name.

Not ready to leave home yet? That's okay! You can stroll around the Void Zone without transferring at all.

With ToonTransfer on the web, the old Windows ToonTransfer client has been retired. Thanks for every Toon it carried over!

Every Server, Now on Mac!

Mac Toons, this one's for you! Every Toontown Archive server now runs on Mac, on both Apple Silicon and Intel. Our Mac clients use Apple's Metal graphics, so expect Toontown to run smooth as seltzer. (Muffin and ToonTransfer run right in your browser, so they're good to go too!)

Download the Mac launcher here, and the launcher will keep itself up to date from there.

Thank You, Toons!

Ten years ago, we set out to keep Toontown's laughter going. We couldn't have done any of it without YOU. Every Toon who logged in, reported a bug, threw a pie or just said "Hi there!" in the playground.

So which server are you hopping into first? Will you be leaping through time in the Void Zone, or brushing up on your Japanese in Seltzer? Let us know!

Here's to the next ten years. Toons of the World Unite -- and Stay Tooned!
